I managed to get a quick interview with Magnus today. If you heard of him yet, then step yo game up & watch his cover of J. Cole's "Who Dat" (below). I heard of Magnus via Twitter, And was waiting a long time for him to release some material and finally he game with some fired music. Anyways, Check the interview to see who he really is..
Magnus: My name is Magnus and I am a Hip-Hop Artist from North London. I Am part of Boom Entertainment and I'm looking to make it in the Hip-Hop Industry by my story telling, word play and unique flow that nobody has heard of for a while.
- Lewi: So, How did you get into the music business?
Magnus: Erm.. I was running around with a couple of artist back in the day when I was young, and they was doing music 24/7. I was really into music but I didn’t really want to become a rapper or anything, then my friend just told me to take a shot at it and I did. Now it's just took over my life, lol.
- Lewi: On Twitter you mention J. Cole a lot. Is he your favorite artist? If so; why?.. If not; who is?
Magnus: Yeah, Right now he's in my top five list of my favorite rappers. More time because I can relate to his story and we kind of have smiler flows but other than that he's just himself and lyrical. It's been a while since we've seen that in the Hip-Hop scene.
- Lewi: Who/What inspires you to write music?
Magnus: Life inspires me.. And my credit score lol it’s really low at the moment but nah jokes aside, anything you know. Just things that are around me and what am going through at the moment in my life.
- Lewi: Who are your 5 top artists at the moment?
Magnus: In no order, In No order; Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, J. Cole, Jay-Z & Pusha T.
- Lewi: I haven't heard no Grime music from you. Do you like it or are you just strictly hip-hop?
Magnus: Lol, Believe it or not I used to do Grime. But it wasn’t for me. I was forcing it and when you force something it don’t work out. Even though I was good on it, my heart wasn’t in it.. Mmm, I like some people in Grime like Skepta and MVL that’s it really.
- Lewi: If there was a chance to work with someone right now, who would it be & why?
Magnus: Kanye West. Guy is a fucking mad man when it comes to making music for real.
- Lewi: In 3 years time, where would you like to be in the industry?
Magnus: Getting ready to release my album with G.O.O.D Music or Roc Nation lol or be on the XXL freshmen cover or something and be noticed as the new Slick Rick, lol.
- Lewi: Do you think there’s a place in the Hip-Hop industry for UK Artists to get as big as American Artists?
Magnus: Yeah there is, I mean look at giggs he’s doing really really well so yeah of course, we just got to stay on a grind and keep pushing.
- Lewi: Thanks for the Interview bro, any last words/shoutouts?
Magnus: Yeah.. Im just getting started. If you think "Who Dat" was fire...you haven’t seen/heard nothing yet.
